Open PowerShell in the folder with the .zip and run:
Get-FileHash .\MAGNETISiM_2.1.0_win64_portable.zip
The hash it prints must match the SHA-256 above. If it does not, download the file again.

Highlights
- New SPICESiM tab in Results: generate and export the SPICE model with a live console and live plots (the N×N error grid, the selected cell with |Z| and phase, and the pole map). It runs in the background and can be cancelled at any time without writing anything.
- Automatic order search for Vector Fitting: instead of choosing the order, set the Maximum model error (2 % by default) and the Maximum model order; SPICESiM finds the lowest order that meets the error. Fitting is faster and more accurate (relaxed Vector Fitting, solved block by block), and an optional Enforce reciprocity tick (on by default) exports a symmetric model.
- Stop keeps what is finished: stopping a sweep (or closing the application while it runs) keeps and shows every frequency that had already finished.
- “All” frequencies in Circuit Viewer and Power Loss, and an excitation Value that can be one number or one value per simulated frequency (comma-separated). The excitation and the winding grouping are saved with the project and come back when it is opened.
- Clear warnings for input that cannot be used: any field that cannot be read (or is impossible, such as a frequency of 0) is shown in red with a one-line tooltip, and Run does not simulate until it is fixed. This covers Setup, Core, Windings, the folder settings and the wizards.
- First start: the EULA is shown and must be accepted, then the folders are asked for. Each new portable version asks again.
Core configuration
- More accurate reluctance model for RZ cores: the air gap uses the real geometry of each face (round post and outer wall), and the 17 RZ families were revised against datasheets and FEMM.
- Simulated Power Loss, element by element: core losses from FEMM now apply Steinmetz to each mesh element instead of to the average flux density, and B max (the most loaded section) is shown next to B avg.
- ERPlanar and EIRPlanar without a center hole: the Cp field is no longer shown for these families (a planar post is solid).
- Air gaps by family: RZ cores take two values (outer legs and center leg); IPT cores take one (the plate separation); in U and UI cores the FEMM air region uses only the outer gaps.
- userLib: a manufacturer with the same name as a built-in one is listed apart as “
<name> (user)”; a userLib catalogue that cannot be loaded falls back to CustomCore with a warning in the Setup console instead of leaving an empty list.
Windings configuration
- Winding that does not fit: the Windings tab warns in red when the winding does not fit in the core window.
- 2D and 3D views match FEMM: in PCB windings the 2D view no longer shifts the tracks by a hidden varnish thickness; Round and Litz conductors are placed in 3D where the 2D view and FEMM put them; the PCB substrate is drawn in 3D with its edges only.
- The minimum FEMM clearance of 0.01 mm for Round and Litz is applied only where the typed clearance is smaller.
- The fill factor of Litz is kept between 0 and 1, layer by layer.
Simulation and modeling
- Closing with a simulation running does the same as Stop: it waits for the current FEMM run, keeps the finished frequencies and closes.
- The simulation counter counts only the runs that are really left (cached frequencies are not counted again).
- A sweep with a frequency of 0 or below, or with a sweep type that the application does not know (a setup file edited by hand), is refused with the field in red.
- Leftovers of an interrupted run (the FEMM COM registration in the user registry) are cleaned at start and exit, only when they are MAGNETISiM’s own; if one cannot be removed, the Setup console says which and why.
- Clean Up Electric also removes the partial XY matrices and the electric setup.
- The application now closes cleanly (2.0.0 could end with an access violation when closing).
Results postprocessing
- CAPACITISiM uses the frequencies that both results share: with fewer electric than magnetic frequencies, 2.0.0 combined them position by position and could show wrong numbers without a warning.
- Power Loss: the plot follows the selected Part; Power on wk (VA) has a tooltip and the CSV carries P and Q; core losses for air cores and IPT show empty cells with a warning instead of failing.
- Results whose matrix file is missing or damaged now show empty cells and a red line saying so, instead of keeping the previous numbers.
- Export buttons are off when there is nothing to export; SVG export includes the curves of the right axis; the 2D viewer exports only to image and SVG (the formats that work), and Save figure of the material previews no longer offers PGF.
- The right axis of the plots keeps its scale when the left axis or X change.
SPICESiM
- Data warnings before fitting (frequencies missing from the setup, gaps of more than two decades, no DC information), and extra frequencies are reported with the result.
- Passivity correction that preserves the simulated impedance; a model that cannot be made passive is not exported.
- SIMPLIS export with numbered nodes and full precision (accepted by SIMetrix/SIMPLIS); the
.subcktname fixed for LTspice, QSpice and PLECS as well.
Interface and general features
- New application icon, without border, in every window and in the taskbar; new SPICESiM icon.
- Windows dark mode no longer leaks into the application colours.
- Table selection shown as a green border; [WARNING] lines of the Setup console in orange.
- The version (2.1.0) is shown in the title bar, the loading screen, About and the properties of
MAGNETISiM.exe. - Autosave keeps the 30 most recent projects and deletes older ones.
- Zoom limits and a view reset in Winding Expression.
- The material digitizers and fitting dialogs refuse missing or invalid fits (inf/nan) with a message.
- The portable no longer carries the JSON copies of the examples (the ZIP examples remain).
Bug fixes
- Loading a setup file edited by hand no longer stops half way (whole-number fields with text) and no longer shows rows of another sweep type in Waveform.
- Default material names in electric simulations, out-of-catalogue references and some catalogue materials that could not be loaded.
- Several plots and dialogs that stayed open in memory after closing.
- Copy/paste buttons drawn by the theme under the mouse; copy with the mouse in a corner.
- Temporary files are deleted as soon as they are read; closing and File > New go on when another program holds a file in the temporary folder.
- The LTspice symbol pin order.
